Welcome to Scholarshipvv

Scholarshipvv is a Nigerian-based scholarship information and educational resource platform. We exist for one simple reason: too many students in Nigeria and across Africa are missing out on scholarships that could change their lives, not because they are not qualified, but because they simply did not know the opportunity existed.

We are published by Scholarshipvv Media and we operate from Lagos, Nigeria. Everything we do is free. There are no fees to browse, no paid tiers to unlock, and no charges to access any information on this platform. If you are a student looking for funding, this is your space.

What We Do

Scholarshipvv is a free online platform where students can find verified information on scholarships, grants, fellowships, bursaries, and funded academic programmes available to them at every level of education, from secondary school all the way through to PhD and postdoctoral research.

We do not award scholarships ourselves. What we do is gather information from official and trusted sources, verify it, and present it in plain language that any student can understand and act on. We track deadlines, explain eligibility requirements, and break down the application process so students know exactly what to do and when to do it.

Beyond listing opportunities, we also publish practical guides to help students write strong scholarship essays, request recommendation letters, build competitive applications, and avoid common mistakes that cost applicants their chances. We want students to not just find scholarships but to actually win them.

Our Vision

We want to be the most trusted scholarship information platform for Nigerian and African students. That is the goal we work toward every day.

We believe that a student from a low-income household in rural Nigeria deserves the same access to scholarship information as anyone else. We believe that financial background should not determine how far a person goes in education. And we believe that if a student has the talent and the drive, the only thing standing between them and a scholarship should be a strong application, not a lack of information.

Our vision is a Nigeria, and an Africa, where every ambitious student knows where to look, what to apply for, and how to put forward the best version of themselves to any scholarship committee in the world.

Our Major Focus

Our major focus is closing the information gap. Nigeria produces some of the most talented and hardworking students in the world, yet thousands of qualified applicants miss scholarship deadlines each year simply because no one told them in time. That is the problem we are solving.

We focus on making scholarship information easy to find, easy to understand, and easy to act on. We cover government scholarship schemes in Nigeria such as the programmes run by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF). We cover internationally prestigious awards like Chevening, Fulbright, Commonwealth, Rhodes, Mastercard Foundation, DAAD, Erasmus Mundus, and many others. And we cover smaller, less well-known grants and bursaries that students might never stumble across on their own.

We also focus heavily on guidance. Finding a scholarship is only the first step. We help students understand what each scholarship is really looking for, how to frame their personal statement, how to approach referees, and how to meet every requirement on the checklist before the deadline hits.

Our Target Audience

Scholarshipvv is built for students. Specifically, we serve:

  • Nigerian students at secondary school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels who want to study in Nigeria or abroad
  • African students looking for funded study opportunities in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and other destinations worldwide
  • First-generation university students who may not have family members who have navigated the scholarship process before
  • Students from low-income and economically disadvantaged backgrounds who need reliable, free information the most
  • Young professionals looking for fellowships, research funding, and short courses to grow in their careers
  • Parents, teachers, school counsellors, and academic advisors who support students through the education and funding application journey

We write for people who are figuring this out for the first time. We do not assume prior knowledge. We explain things clearly and we respect our readers’ time.

Our Position

There are many scholarship websites out there. Some are well run. Some are not. Expired deadlines, unverified listings, misleading information, and outright scams are real problems in this space and Nigerian students have been burned by them more than once.

Scholarshipvv takes a different approach. We verify before we publish. We remove listings when they close. We update information when things change. We do not take money to push certain scholarships to the top of our pages. We do not allow paid placements to compromise the quality of what our readers see. And we will never charge a student a fee to access any information on this platform.

We are not the biggest scholarship platform in the world. But we are working every day to be the most reliable one for Nigerian and African students. Our readers trust us because we take that responsibility seriously. When a student acts on information they found on Scholarshipvv, we want them to be confident that what they read was accurate, current, and genuinely useful.

We are proudly Nigerian. We understand the challenges Nigerian students face when navigating international application processes, the cost of standardised tests, the difficulty of obtaining visas, the pressure of family expectations, and the very real fear of wasting months of effort on a scholarship that turns out to be fake. We speak to those experiences honestly because we have seen them up close.

Scholarshipvv is, at its core, a platform built on the belief that information is one of the most powerful tools a student can have. We exist to make sure that tool is available to everyone, not just those who already have connections, resources, or luck on their side.
